We're happy to say that we've finalized a lot of details that were up in the air. The restaurant for Sat. night is Joe Mama's Italian Deluxe. The cost will be around 16 a person which will include your tax and tip. This is a great place to eat! They've given us 10 menu items that will fill you up along with including soft drinks in the cost of the meal. If you want to have something harder to drink - they can accommodate you there too for an extra charge.

I love Joe Mama's personally and I know that everyone else will love it too!

The food is great the atmosphere is wonderful and it is a really unique place to grab some grub. Joe Mama's is just a few blocks from the hotel on Forbes Ave.

Some other things that we have worked out include route finalizations.

Friday night will be a lot of fun and along with Sunday should not be too long or hard. Intermediate skaters should have no problem on these skates and they are sure to be fun even if you are an advanced skater.

Saturday morning's skate will be broken up into two sections with a picnic in the middle. Here is the really cool part: P&W motors (a great car dealership located in Pittsburgh's east end) have offered us the use of their Mini grill! This is a Mini Cooper that have been turned into a grill! This is one of the coolest things you've ever seen.

As a re-cap as to why you should be here and why you are going to have a great time:

4 Amazing skate routes, 2 great nights full of Pittsburgh's unique night life, a picnic on top of Mt. Washington overlooking the city, loads of free stuff in your goodie bag, and amazing raffle prizes. Did I mention the free bagels on Sat. morning?

You will not find another skate in the US that you can have as much fun on and spend so little money at with all the free and cheap food we are throwing your way.

If you have any questions about things please use the contact form. We will reply within hours to any questions that you have.

More great prizes!!!

5/12/2007 08:20

The law offices of Houston Harbaugh, P.C. have generously given us 4 tickets to the Pirates game on May 2nd to raffle off! We also have registrations from the good folks in Miami for the Great EsSkate, from the Empire Skate Club for the Big Apple Roll, and I am told we are to expect a registration for Boston and maybe even next years Texas Road Rash! Check out the events page for more info on the raffles.

We got Extensions!

5/9/2007 10:44
The hotel has extended the discount until May 18th!
In other news we have arranged 2 more great deals for skaters - one is another raffle prize of 2 one-hour massages at Dessange Paris, an amazing spa in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh, (very near the hotel location). After a great weekend of skating how cool would an hour long massage feel?

The other deal is from Bruegger's Bagels who will be providing breakfast on Sat. Morning for everyone!!!

More info will be up soon - we will have links to the sponsor's Websites so you can get more information about them.

In other, other news we skated the route for the Sat. evening Hills Hills Hills skate Tuesday May 8th and have decided to make a few changes as it was too steep even for us! If you are coming to Pittsburgh for hills - this is the skate for you!

Planning Meeting

03/19/2007 21:30
Once again the Hills and Thrills planning committee got together and we've hammered out more details. There will now be two skates on Saturday - though really you could say three because the first will be split into two by a picnic on the top of Mt. Washington. The second skate will be devoted to those who are looking for some serious hill action leaving the first skate of the day targeted to all skaters of an intermediate level.

Other issues brought to the table where the fact that the Pittsburgh Pirates will be playing at PNC Park on Friday so we will incorporate a skate past the stadium and we will do our best to check out the Three Rivers Arts Festival - a real treat for anyone who has never been there. The TRAF is a 17 day arts festival full of art, crafts, music, and general good times. If you are bringing any friends and family they will not want to miss the arts festival.
